At Saint Luke’s Parish we encourage all our members to serve in ministry. The Church is the Body of Christ in this world, and each of us are members of it (1 Cor: 2:27). As members of this Body, we truly are His hands, His feet and His eyes in our world. To be a Christian, then, is to be committed to action, to living out our faith through service to one another: Jesus said, "The Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve." (Mark 10:45). We are Christians, we are the Church, we are the Body of Christ, not to be served but to serve and every member of our parish has something to offer towards the Mission of the Church.
St. Luke’s parish exists to bring people to Jesus so that together we journey to become his joyful disciples.  We invite you to Come and See.  We offer  opportunities to Explore and Grow in Faith, in Community and in Service to Others.

DISCIPLESHIP PATH MINISTRY (Growing in Faith)
Do you want to foster faith in adults? In yourself and in others? One cannot give and serve without being nourished.  Join a group that suits your needs and helps you continue to grow.  Consider becoming part of our animation team in various Explore And Grow programs.

WELCOMING / HOSPITALITY
Love to smile? Outgoing? Enjoy hosting guests? Our hospitality ministry wants to create a warm and friendly atmosphere by greeting people and answering basic inquiries. Our Greeters are the first face a visitor will see when arriving and their warm welcome can make all the difference. especially for newcomers. Come serve at our weekly masses or at some of our special events.

LITURGICAL MINISTRY TEAMS
Lots of things happen to create a beautiful worship service. Be part of a team, prayerfully serving, that will carry us all through the beauty and grace of Mass.

MUSIC AND MEDIA MINISTRY
These ministries are central to St. Luke’s and require various skills: singing voice, talented musicians and technical know how in person and on-line.  If you feel called to engage in any of these areas, either at our worship ministries or at special events (adult formation, retreat, etc), we would love to talk to you! 
FOOD AND SOCIAL
Building community means gatherings and that means FOOD. If you enjoy setting up, cooking, serving or creating opportunities for people to connect, this would be your place to get involved. Our new kitchen will facilitate opportunities to gather and mingle after Mass on week-ends and at other parish events (Alpha, retreats, formation evenings, etc.). This just might be the spot for you!

FAITH & FAMILY MINISTRY (CHILDREN AND YOUTH)
Do you have a heart for the next generation? We want to ignite young people of all ages and help them start their discipleship journey on the right foot. Faith-filled adults and teens who are a few steps ahead on the journey can help make this happen.  Our Faith and Family co-ordinator would love to have a conversation with you.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Desire to serve those in need in the community? Outreach ministries meet with the shut-ins, collect donations, help immigrants and assist those less fortunate. Our Angels of Mercy feed the hungry once a month and would welcome support.

This ministry is all about administrative projects and these require varying degrees of skills. It could be building, tearing down or maintenance. Or if you enjoy hands on tasks, computer work or helping to organize then this is the place for you. Some of these projects are a one-time events - maybe this is exactly what you are looking for.

FIRST AID (to be created)
Our emergency aid responders provide support at Mass and special events by responding to medical situations. If you hold a valid First Aid, CPR Level A and AED Certifications and a desire to assist those in medical need please give a thought to joining this ministry.

IMPORTANT – Responsible Pastoral Ministry (RPM)


St. Luke’s parish wishes to provide all our volunteers and parishioners of all ages with a safe environment.  This is why the parish applies the requirements set out by the Diocesan Responsible Pastoral Ministry (RPM) Protocols.  As such, each volunteer at the parish 15 years and over, will be required to fill in the RPM Identification form as well as read and sign the Code of Ethics agreement.  These files will be given to the Parish PRM coordinator and filed in a locked filing cabinet. 


For parish purposes a shorter Identification form will be provided to our volunteers and will help with the compiling of volunteer lists.   

At the time of writing this document, we are awaiting the latest english version of these forms from the diocese.

If your ministry is considered high risk because you are volonteering with what is considered a vulnerable clientele, you will be expected to move on to the next step which will most likely include a policy check.  Thank you for your understanding and support.
